1968 Chevrolet C10

About the truck:

1968 Chevrolet C10 Longbed - 50th Anniversary Edition - Factory 396 big block - Turbo 400 - Custom C & C Package

This is one of the All American Billet shop trucks that will be used to engineer and test fit parts. Since its a somewhat rare and highly optioned truck, nothing will be done to it that cannot be put back to original condition

This is how she sat for the last 20 years. Gold paint looks green and a few missing parts.

Grille was found in the back but the tailgate and front bumper are missing. Sellers '53 Merc sitting next to it.

Original, numbers matching 396. The previous owner started an engine rebuild that never got finished. we have a 468 to use until this engine gets rebuilt.

Considering that sometime during the last 20 years the drivers side window got broken the interior is in decent shape and nothing was stolen. Note the under dash, dealer supplied AC.

The reason this truck was chosen.....original big block and 50th anniversary paint and interior packages.

At the shop and off the trailer. Note the used 6 lug tires and wheels we installed. The 20+ year old tires that were on the truck wouldn't hold air and made loading the trailer a lot harder than it should have been. Thanks Tom!

Engine and tranny are out, time to clean!

Removing the '68 front suspension

Cleaned up engine compartment and front frame rails.

'72 front suspension with 2.5" dropped spindles ready for installation

Front suspension installed. This is a temporary installation as we are working on billet A-arms utilizing Alden American coilovers.

Trying to simulate the weight of the big block and tranny but we needed about 2 more guys. The rally's are looking pretty good!

Stock '72 rear end. The trailing arms will be replaced with our new billet trailing arms and the shocks and springs will be replaced with Alden American Coilovers.

Rally's look good with the 4" drop. The new suspension will have a little more adjustability but since this is going to serve as a test fit vehicle, we will be staying at the 4" drop minimum (for now).

A sneak peak at the 468 Chevy Big Block. This beast has Edelbrock aluminum heads, Edelbrock aluminum manifold, Edelbrock cam, Headman Headers, Magnaflow exhaust and an Edelbrock 750 cfm Performance carburator. Obviously, it will sport an All American Billet front drive kit and several other billet accessories.
